Nepean Winter Daytrip

Nepean River, Camden

12 June 2023

By JOHN WARD

Twelve paddlers explored the Nepean River at Camden, clocking up 15 kilometres and soaking up the scenery.

Once clear of Camden town the river feels remote—especially with the large amount of fallen trees in the water. We paddled upstream to a logjam, negotiating some currents around a series of fallen trees from the recent floods. After a brief stop, we paddled back down to Camden Weir and then back to our starting point.  Thanks to everyone that came today—a great winter day’s paddle.

Jackie Davis writes: My first longer paddle with the Club, and we couldn’t have had better weather. Huge thanks to John for his kind, careful and professional leadership, to all who joined, and to Simon and the Club for making these mini adventures possible.
