Georges and Cooks Rivers

Plans have been afoot for some time for an epic paddle all the way from Liverpool to the Tempe Clubhouse, incorporating the Georges River, Botany Bay and the Cooks River. Initially it was hoped that this would be that paddle—however, with poor water quality in the Georges River after yet more heavy rain, this outing was trimmed to a 17km version, starting at the St George Rowing Club in Como, and finishing at the Clubhouse.
After the recent rain and flooding, it was a glorious day out on the water. Some quick thinking was needed to steer clear of a live regatta on the Georges River, and there was a decent swell on the Bay to provide for a challenging morning. This outing definitely to be done again!
