Hinchinbrook Island (Munamudanamy), Far North Qld.

Traditional homelands of the Bandjin and Girramay people, this place is known as Munamudanamy

Imagine exploring a tropical island – paddling by day and camping by night. Sound good?
The club is aiming to travel to picturesque Hinchinbrook Island every second year, starting from 2023 – alternating with paddling in the Whitsunday Islands.

This large, mountainous island is close to the mainland and lies between Cairns and Townsville. Accessible only by canoe or kayak, paddlers can stay at a number of camping areas and explore over multiple days. There are opportunities for snorkelling, swimming, trail walking and paddling to nearby islands.

The club’s experienced, safety-conscious paddlers are leading these trips, while using the equipment and advice of an expert local hire company.
