It’s a rare opportunity for many of us to to go for a paddle on a Monday – the joy of a public holiday.

This is a gentle flatwater paddle, ideal for beginners, from Belgenny Reserve in Camden heading towards Menangle. The outbound paddle will be upstream but there will be minimal flow and the river is quiet in nature. Once leaving the town of Camden the river has a wilderness feel and there is usually plenty of birdlife to see. The river is narrow in places with some fallen trees to paddle around.  We will have lunch on the river before returning to the start point. The total distance is likely to be around 15km with an optional excursion downstream from the start point adding another 5km.  We will meet at Belgenny reserve at 10am to be paddling by 10:30am.  We will be finished by 3pm. Paddlers must be able to wet exit and be confident in the water. This paddle bay be undertaken in either kayak or canoe.

Club boats are available for this paddle, however will need to arrange own transport.
