A leisurely weekday paddle for retirees, part-timers and people needing a shorter working week 🙂
A beginners/intermediate-level paddle from Yowie Bay through the South West Arm of Port Hacking into the Royal National Park. This loop journey is approximately 14 kilometres, offering scenic views, sheltered waterways.
Plan to set off from Yowie Bay Boat Ramp at 10am. Aiming to be off the water around 1.30pm.
This trip is suitable for F0 paddlers. It is not appropriate for absolute beginners but is ideal for those with some paddling experience who are comfortable managing a sea kayak in sheltered conditions with some open water with potential for chop.
Paddlers should be able to control and manoeuvre a sea kayak in flat and mildly choppy water, and be able to wet exit. Participants should be able to maintain a speed of 5-6km/hour for 90 mins at a time and be able to paddle 15km.
