🌿 Swallow Rock to South West Arm 

Join us for one of Port Hacking’s prettiest paddles as we wind our way from Swallow Rock down to the beautiful South West Arm Creek in the Royal National Park.

We’ll pass bushy headlands, sandy coves, and into a quiet waterway that feels miles from anywhere. South West Arm is at its best around high tide, so we’ll time our arrival at the head of the creek for a relaxed lunch stop. Here you can stretch your legs and take the short wade up to Winifred Falls where you’ll find a refreshing swimming hole, and some tempting jump rocks for the adventurous!

After lunch and exploring, we’ll retrace our path. The tide will be flowing out, helping us leave the creek, but it can make the channel off Lilli Pilli Point a bit more of a challenge.

Rescue skills: Those keen can finish the day with a short rescue practice session in the sheltered waters at Swallow Rock.

Meet: 9:30am at Swallow Rock Reserve, Grays Point
On-water: 10:00am
Distance: Around 16 km
Pace: Social with plenty of time for lunch and exploring
Experience: Not suitable for complete beginners. To participate in this paddle, you must be able to wet-exit and be confident treading in water. You must be able to paddle 15km. Suitable boats are seakayak of 4.3m or longer.

Transport: I can open the clubhouse in the morning for boat pick-up. You’ll need to arrange your own transport to Swallow Rock or organise a car share with other paddlers.
