Early morning stretch and paddle on Middle Harbour.  Meet at 7:30am return by 11am.

The course paddled may change, subject to conditions on the day.  The current plan is to Paddle Route B (Tunks Park to Balmoral via Grotto Point).  Assuming conditions are suitable, we will enjoy a scenic exploratory paddle from Tunks Park to Balmoral Beach for coffee and a swim.  This paddle may include crossing semi-exposed water from Grotto Point to Balmoral.

Inside Sydney Harbour the conditions can get windy and choppy; paddlers need to be comfortable negotiating boat wash and remain alert to boat traffic at all times.

This paddle is suitable for more confident paddlers (F1/F2) capable of manoeuvring their kayaks in challenging conditions, who can perform deep water rescues.

The paddle will only be undertaken in reasonable conditions (see risk assessment), with landings and exits from shore, with a slight chance of small surf.

Note: this paddle will require participants to supply their own kayak, paddle, life jacket and other necessary paddling equipment or to organise to borrow the necessary equipment from the club yourself (separately). People without the correct gear will not be allowed to participate.

If there is sufficient interest in this paddle series, I hope to make it a regular weekly paddle to get out on the water, help maintain paddle fitness and to enjoy the company of fellow enthusiastic paddlers.
