This trip is on the tidal waters of Port Hacking starting and ending in Yowie Bay. It is intended to travel to Simpson’s Bay and Cabbage Tree Bay. If conditions are good the group may opt to paddle to Jibbon Beach. Lunch will be taken at Bonnievale in the Royal National Park. Sometime may taken in Simpsons Bay to practice/play in the small surf over a sand bank (if there is any) and in the tidal outflow from Cabbage Tree Basin. After this the paddle will follow the southern side of Port Hacking before cutting across to Yowie Bay. The total distance will be around 24km.

There will be a 1.8m tidal drop on the day of this paddle producing some strong tidal currents and in places fast flowing water. For this reason, this paddle is only open to F1 paddlers that are confident in capsize rescue techniques. Spray decks are compulsory on this paddle for anyone playing in surf.

Paddlers will need to arrange their own transport to and from the venue.

Minimum skill/experience level – F1.

Please register (and don’t just rock up..) For safety we need to manage numbers and confirm attendees. We also may need to cancel.
