We are planning a paddling trip on the Noosa River in south east Queensland which includes Noosa Everglades. The trip is open to a small number of club members. The internet highlights Noosa Everglades offers a unique opportunity to explore one of the Australia’s “rare wetland ecosystems, featuring stunning reflections, diverse wildlife, and serene natural beauty. It’s a way to connect with nature while paddling through tranquil waterways surrounded by lush vegetation”. From hearing about it we thought it was about time to go there.
We will be doing a 4 day trip from Friday 21 May to Monday 25 May. We are hiring sea kayaks and paddling gear from Kanu Kapers plus some camping gear and using a remote base camp from which to explore. Some days we will paddle up to 20km. For transport we fly into and out of Sunshine Coast Airport. Ground transport is yet to be worked through. At present we have made a booking for 8 people. If interested please complete the expression of Interest via the link below. A general map of the area is below
Initial costs, as general guidance is:
Kayak with paddle gear hire $340
Camping gear – extra cost
Air fares – at own expense
Camping $25/person for the 4 nights
Accommodation before trip – at own expense
For those on the trip more extensive information will be provided. Firm bookings and payments will need to be made in the next 10 days, ie. before the end of January.
If you miss out on, or can’t make the dates of this trip we suggest setting up a second trip from Friday 26 June to Monday 29 June 2026. You would need to make all your own bookings for that time – with a number of people already expressing interesting in the 2nd trip, we’re hopeful some trip leaders will emerge shortly.
