Capsizes and problems can happen to the best of us. We don’t get too many in the club but that doesn’t mean they never happen and its crucial the we can deal with problems on the water. Practice is important to keep those skills alive.

This is not a formal training session but instead an opportunity to practice various rescues and talk about what we could do to recover from different scenarios. It is aimed primarly at members that take on, or are likely to take a paddle leadership role. If numbers allow the session will be open to less experienced people also. So if you are a member and interested please register an interest.

For anyone not able to make this we will try to put on some other sessions or practice during other paddles.

We will practice various towing techniques and practice a variety of deep water rescues. If conditions are suitable we will do this out in the waves of bay. We may also practice some leadership skills such as beach landings – if the conditions are suitable.

Club boats are available to use on this paddle but members will need to arrange their own transport for these. The usual contribution for boat use applies ($20).
