Explore the tranquil Upper Nepean River on an extended full-day outing

We’ll be starting at Douglas Park and heading 14 kilometres downriver to Menangle, before stopping for lunch and then heading back upriver to Douglas Park. On the way back, if energy levels are high we’ll also explore a short way into the picturesque Cataract River.

The total distance will be 31km if we include the Cataract River side-trip, and 28km if we simply head back to Douglas Park.

This is an extended day out as the event is also a training event in the lead-up to the some longer-distance events that some Club members are taking part in–in particular, the WOMDOMNOM 2021 event in late November on the Macquarie River. This outing is intended for paddlers who are comfortable paddling at 5km/h over six hours.

If you’re interested in joining us on this outing, contact JP Collins on 0420-237-831.

Note that you will need to provide your own transport to get to Douglas Park. It’s a 55 minute drive from the Clubhouse. You are welcome to use a Club boat or bring your own, but it should be a sit-in kayak rather than an inflatable, sit-on-top or fishing kayak.

Meeting Point: Douglas Park

Meeting Time: 9am
