Menangle to Douglas Park Paddle – 22 February
Join us for a relaxed paddle on a quieter stretch of the Nepean River, travelling upstream from Menangle toward Douglas Park. This is a scenic, mostly flatwater section of the river with sandy banks, rural views and a peaceful feel.
We’ll meet at 9:30am at Nepean River Reserve, Menangle. From there we’ll paddle upstream, turning around based on group pace and conditions, with an expectation of at least 20km for the day, but up to 28km if we’re going well.
Access notes:
At Menangle, access is near the rail bridge and involves a short but fairly steep carry to and from the water down a slippery, mud bank. It’s manageable, but not the easiest launch, particularly for anyone with mobility limitations. Good footwear essential.
Boat hire:
For those needing to borrow a club boat, I can help arrange access to the clubhouse. However, participants will need to organise their own transport to and from the venue.
More details and final logistics will be shared closer to the date. Hope you can make it for a good day on the river.
