Join us for a day paddle along the Colo River. This trip follows a 24 km return route from the Colo River Park Jetty (under Putty Road bridge) downstream to Skeleton Rocks Reserve and back.

This section of the Colo winds through sandstone cliffs, bushland and peaceful stretches of water.

Please register here: JustGo

🕒 Plan for the day

  • Meet: 9:00 am at Colo River Park Jetty (here)

  • Launch: 9:30 am – with the outgoing tide

  • Turn-around:  After lunch around 1:00 pm at Skeleton Rocks Reserve

  • Return ETA: 4pm at Colo River Park Jetty

We’ll paddle with the tide on the way to Skeleton Rocks Reserve. The return will be a little more challenging as we’ll be against the last of the ebb and the natural river flow, so please be prepared for a slower, more physical return leg.

Paddlers should be comfortable covering 25 km or more in a day and managing moderate resistance from current and tide.

Note: this paddle will require participants to supply their own kayak (>4.5m) and other necessary paddling equipment or to organise to borrow the equipment from the club yourself (separately).

🚗 Optional car shuttle

If you’d prefer to make this a shorter, one-way paddle, it’s possible to arrange a car shuttle from Skeleton Rocks Reserve back to the starting point.
Please note this will need to be organised separately by participants. The main trip plan will be a return paddle.
